Community is “Lighting It Up Blue at Nashua Community College for Autism Awareness.
Nashua, NH will be participating in the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day on Tuesday April 2nd at 7:00 PM by illuminating the exterior ofNashua Community College in blue lights and custom projection images. A series of similar events will take place world wide, illuminating public buildings such as 30 Rockefeller Center, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and event the pyramids.
The event which will begin at 7:00 PM on the campus’ front lawn will feature several speakers including Nashua Community College President, Lucille Jordan.
Supporters of Autism awareness are encouraged to attend.
Locally, Nashua Community College and service agency, The Nashua Center, have teamed up to create a program LIFE-OPS which encourages students with learning challenges to continue their education in college level courses. Currently the 3 students in the program are all on the autism spectrum.
